The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division has filed 2,172 cases for traffic law violations in different areas of the capital.
Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Division Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the matter on Thursday.
He said that these cases were filed during the traffic division's drive in different areas of the capital throughout the day on Wednesday. As part of the drive, 283 vehicles were dumped and 75 were wrecked.
The DMP official also said that such drives will continue regularly to ensure traffic discipline.
