Milestone Tragedy: Chinese expert team starts treatment at burn unit

A Chinese expert team has started treatment at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute to treat the injured in the plane crash in the area adjacent to Milestone School and College in Uttara, the capital.
The team arrived at the institute at 9 am on Friday (July 25) and started monitoring the physical condition of the injured. Currently, 42 people are undergoing treatment there, of whom 6 are in critical condition. The Chinese team is coordinating with experts from Singapore and India to provide treatment and provide necessary advice to ensure the best possible care for the injured.
Security has been beefed up at the hospital in the incident. The army, police, RAB and the air force are jointly monitoring the hospital premises and the surrounding areas.
The Burn Institute has informed that there is currently no need for blood or skin donors and the government will bear the entire medical expenses of the injured.
The Chinese medical team arrived in Dhaka on Thursday (July 24) night. They were received at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen and Syeda Jasmine Sultana Milky, head of the Global Health Emergency Response Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Chinese embassy said that the medical team came from Wuhan Third Hospital in Hubei province and they are providing this assistance as part of humanitarian assistance.
The incident has cast a shadow of deep grief and concern across the country. Prayer mahfils are being held across the country for the recovery of the injured.
