Two Awami League leaders arrested!

Dhaka's Shahbagh Police Station and New Market Police Station have arrested two Awami League leaders. The arrested are Taufiquzzaman Tonu (50) and Monir Hossain Howlader (55).
Ramna Zone DC Masud Alam (BPM) told the media that Md. Taufiquzzaman Tonu, son of AKM Kamruzzaman, general secretary of Taltoli Upazila Awami League in Barguna and chairman of Chhota Bagi Union No. 2, was arrested from Chankharpul area based on a case filed by Shahbagh Police Station.
On the other hand, Monir Hossain Howlader, a close aide of former MP and Dhaka South City Mayor Taposh, was arrested from New Market area.
Monir Hossain Howlader is accused of funding the anti-discrimination student movement. It is also known that there is a murder case against him.
DC Masud Alam said that the police operation will continue to arrest those who have cases against them involved in the anti-discrimination student movement.
Police said that further investigation is underway against the accused and they will be brought to justice.
