Bangladesh Legislative Service Association President is Dr. Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury and General Secretary is S. M. Shafayet Hossain

The committee of Bangladesh Legislative Service Association, an organization of officials of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, has been formed. The ex-officio president of the executive committee is Mr. Dr. Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury, Secretary of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, and Mr. S. M. Shafayet Hossain (Sabuz), General Secretary and Joint Secretary.
This was stated in a press release by the General Secretary and Joint Secretary of the organization, Mr. S. M. Shafayet Hossain (Sabuz) on Wednesday (January 8).
The notification said that in the presence of officials of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Legislative Service Association for the year 2025-26 was formed on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Bagicha Restaurant and Party Center, 42/1/C (1st Floor) Segunbagicha, Dhaka-1000.
The newly elected General Secretary of the organization, Mr. S. M. Shafayet Hossain, pledged that the Bangladesh Legislative Service Association will play an active and leading role in working together to eliminate the long-standing deprivation, discrimination and resentment of the Legislative Service, improve the service, increase efficiency, prevent corruption and irregularities, and implement the government's promises.
Other members of the committee are: Vice-President, Mr. Md. Rafiqul Hasan, Joint Secretary (Drafting), Joint General Secretary Mr. Mohammad Zia Uddin, Senior System Analyst, Organizing Secretary, Mr. Mohammad Abdul Halim, Deputy Secretary (Drafting), Treasurer, Mr. Md. Rajib Hasan, Deputy Secretary (Drafting), Office Secretary Mousumi Das, Deputy Secretary (Drafting), Publicity Secretary Soumen Palit Babu, Senior Assistant Secretary (Drafting). Members: Md. Zakir Hossain, Joint Secretary (Legislative Translation), Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Joint Secretary (Drafting), Md. Abu Raihan, Senior Assistant Secretary (Drafting), Jihan Binte Enam, Senior Assistant Secretary (Drafting), Md. Arif Rabbani Khan, Senior Assistant Secretary, (Legislative Translation), Md. Delwar Hossain, Senior Assistant Secretary (Printing and Publication), Md. Hares, Assistant Secretary (Drafting).
It is to be noted that the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division conducts activities such as vetting and translation of draft laws, rules, regulations, by-laws, notifications, any document that has legal obligations, providing legal opinions to all ministries and departments, vetting all types of contracts, treaties, agreements, memorandums of understanding and other legal documents, copyright protection of law publications, etc.
