Advisory Council Decision: A candidate can take the BCS exam 4 times

A press release sent by the Cabinet Division on Thursday (October 31) informed that the interim government has withdrawn from the previous decision regarding the maximum participation limit in the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination. According to the new decision, a candidate can appear in the exam a total of 4 times.
It is further informed that, in the light of the Upper Age Limit Ordinance, 2024 for Direct Recruitment in Government, Autonomous, Semi-Autonomous, Statutory Government Authorities, Public Non-Financial Corporations including Self-Governing Organizations, Section-59 of the 'Government Employment Act, 2018'- The Advisory Council has given instructions to the Ministry of Public Administration regarding the amendment of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Examination for Age, Eligibility and Direct Recruitment) Rules, 2014 by the Ministry of Public Administration in the form of adding a rule that a candidate can participate in the Bangladesh Civil Service examination a maximum of four times.
After the meeting of the Advisory Council on October 24, a press release of the Cabinet Department informed that a student can participate in the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination a maximum of three times.
