Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam met with the family of Shafiq Uddin Ahmed Ahnaf (17), a class 11 student of BAF Shaheen College of the capital, who was killed in the mass uprising of students. He went to Ahnaf's house in Paikpara, Mirpur today.
Nahid said, the country will remember those who were martyred in the movement. Many unnamed students were martyred in this movement. They are being listed. So far 800 names have been found. We are alive for martyrs. I can speak freely, openly.
Highlighting the role of students in mass uprising, the Information and Broadcasting Adviser said, "The way the students came down on the streets during the mass uprising, today we got a new independent Bangladesh as a result of their sacrifice."
The information advisor said that he would be there for any need of Ahnaf's family. At that time Ahnaf's parents, two brothers and aunt were present in the house.
It is to be noted that on August 4, Ahnaf was killed by the police at Mirpur No. 10.
