In Benapole in Sharsha Upazila of Jessore, people are worshipers of beauty by nature. Hair beard carries the beauty of man. There is no end to people's thoughts about this hair-beard for ages. This is the reason why the value and need of 'Narasundars' is very high. Those whose job is to make people look beautiful by cutting their hair and beard are 'narasundar'. Who are also known to us as barbers. But they are disappearing with the passage of time.

As a result of the evolution of modern civilization today, the pace of our daily life has changed, the touch of modernity has come, modern quality salons have been developed in modern civilization. Many are leaning towards those salons as the price is high.
Even though the custom of cutting the hair and beards of the people of Abhamman Bengal is still going on, the 'Narsundera' sitting in the bazaar, on the grass or on the bed in the village, to get their heads below the knees, that early familiar scene is no longer commonly seen.
This ancient rural tradition is on the way to loss. This familiar scene can still be seen in many upazila bazaars. Keeping in mind the low cost, many people still cut their hair and beard.
The present Benapole municipality of the upazila, the (former) resident of the union is the current Sushil, Narasundar in lineage. His father was in this profession for 40 years. Opposite Benapole High School, Jessore Calcutta Road Beside Chikon Street. Children used to sit under trees to get bricks, to shave their hair. At that time, the cutting style was different from 3 to 18 years old, and children had their head between their knees. Today, such a beautiful scene is not visible.

Met with Motilal in Navaron Bazar. His current age is 60 years. He said my father Hiralal died he was in that profession
He worked in different markets including Sharsha Union in front of Navaran Bazar College. After his death, there is no one in his family to carry on the profession of his father and grandfather.

He also said that many years ago you had to pay 3 taka for hair cutting and 2 taka for shaving. The family was doing well with the income at that time. But currently they have to struggle to meet the family expenses with the money they earn throughout the day even after cutting their hair at 50/80 and shaving at 30/50.
A person named Sabuddin said that now there are many modern salons in the upazila. But whenever I go to the market, I remember my childhood when I see the same haircut. This familiar scene reminds me of my childhood.
He also said that even if we still see this scene with our own eyes, there will come a time when this scene will seem like a story to future generations.
