Pro-government armed forces in Yemen have claimed to have carried out 71 attacks targeting Houthi positions across various areas of Taiz province. According to the forces, these operations targeted Houthi troop gatherings, areas of troop reinforcement, and sites used for storing military supplies.

A military spokesperson stated that the attacks were conducted in several areas, including Al-Akrud, Samia, Al-Ahkum, Al-Aqbush, Jabal Rasin, Jabal Jardad, Bani Omar, Bani Bakari, Al-Kawish, and Al-Athawi.

Yemeni forces claim that several Houthi transport and support vehicles were destroyed in these attacks. They also reported that a number of Houthi fighters were killed or wounded.

However, these claims regarding casualties and damage on the battlefield could not be independently verified. Pro-government forces in Yemen have previously reported operations targeting Houthi positions, military vehicles, and weapons depots in Taiz. Al Jazeera has reported an increase in clashes and military activity between the two sides in Taiz recently.

Meanwhile, a Reuters report dated October 2 stated that forces loyal to Yemen's internationally recognized government reported carrying out 20 airstrikes in the same province within a span of three hours, targeting Houthi personnel, vehicles, and military equipment.

The Yemeni army has stated that its operations against the Houthis in Taiz will continue.
