Russian missile attack on drone exhibition in Kiev, at least 10 killed

At least 10 people have been killed in a deadly Russian ballistic missile attack on a drone technology exhibition on the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital Kiev. Separate attacks in other parts of Ukraine on the same day brought the total death toll to 15.

The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia used three ballistic missiles in the attack, only one of which was able to destroy its defenses. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said more than a hundred people were injured in the attack. Due to the severity of the incident, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that the attack was carried out with long-range high-precision weapons targeting Ukrainian military drone units and their planners.

This is at least the third Russian attack on such a major exhibition since the war began in 2022. Such open military arrangements and propaganda during the war have caused widespread anger within Ukraine. The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has launched an investigation into the incident, looking into security lapses and the role of the organizers.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to visit Washington next week, where he is likely to meet with US President Donald Trump. The deadly attack has created new tensions in the political arena amid diplomatic efforts to revive Ukraine-Russia peace talks.
