Bangladesh has proposed naming a road in Buenos Aires after 'Bangladesh' to make the friendship between Bangladesh and Argentina deeper and more memorable.
The proposal was raised during a courtesy call on Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury by Argentine Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcelo Carlos Cesar at the Secretariat on Thursday (June 18). Various issues to further strengthen the relations between the two countries were discussed in the meeting.
The Minister of Culture said that the current government wants to further expand relations with Argentina based on mutual respect and equality, emphasizing the 'Bangladesh First' policy. He mentioned that there is no formal cultural cooperation agreement between the two countries yet. Therefore, there is a need to finalize the draft agreement sent by Bangladesh quickly.
In the meeting, a formal proposal was made by Bangladesh to name a road in Buenos Aires after 'Bangladesh'. In addition, considering the similarity of the weather and climate of the two countries, a proposal was also made to plant some traditional native plants of Bangladesh in Argentina.
At that time, the Argentine ambassador said that four popular social media influencers and bloggers from Argentina will be brought to Bangladesh on the occasion of the ongoing Football World Cup. They will create a special vlog about the passion, love and support of millions of fans of the Argentine football team in Bangladesh, which will be presented to the Argentine audience.
Those concerned believe that such an initiative will further strengthen communication and friendship between the people of the two countries.
