Amid the ongoing crisis in the country, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has arrested four more people on charges of spying for the enemy state of Israel.

They were arrested in a special operation in the northern province of Gilan on Thursday (April 16). The state news agency IRNA reported this information.

The detainees are accused of smuggling secret information and images of the country's important military and security installations to the Mossad. Investigators claim that they have been working for a foreign intelligence agency for a long time while operating undercover inside the country.

It is also alleged that they were taking advantage of the current war situation and providing the location of strategically important military bases and internal images to the Mossad via the Internet.

Not only in Gilan province, but also in Iran's Intelligence Ministry said that a total of 39 suspects were arrested in separate operations carried out across the country. Of these, four from Gilan are claimed to be directly involved in smuggling military information. The remaining 35 people were arrested in six different provinces of the country, including arms smugglers and members of separatist groups.

Intelligence officials say that this extensive Mossad network is part of a far-reaching plan to weaken Iran's internal security system. The IRGC said that these individuals were putting the country's sovereignty at risk in exchange for money.

On the other hand, Tehran is also facing international pressure in addition to the domestic operation. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai rejected the threat of a possible US naval blockade and said that Iran cannot be blocked in any way. He also commented that pressure cannot be successful by any means - diplomatic, military or economic.

Incidentally, the number of people detained as a result of these recent operations in different provinces of Iran has increased to about 120, according to relevant sources.
