Iran has blamed US President Donald Trump’s ‘wrong international calculations’ for the ongoing war in Iran. The country’s National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani said that Trump must pay the price for this mistake and Iran will not back down until then.

In an interview given to Iranian state television on Saturday, Larijani said that the current situation in Iran and the Middle East is mainly the result of President Trump’s wrong strategic decisions.

He said, “Trump thought that he could apply the same strategy he used in Venezuela to Iran. But that decision has now become a big problem for him.”

Larijani claimed that this war has created a strategic deadlock for the US and that Washington is now stuck in the complexities of its own miscalculations.

He also said, “We will not abandon Trump. He will have to pay the price for the mistakes he made.”

Tehran and Washington held 21 days of talks on Iran's nuclear program from February 6 to February 27. However, the talks ended without any agreement.

The next day, on February 28, the United States launched a military operation in Iran, Operation Epic Fury. At the same time, Israel also launched its own military operation in Iran, Operation Roaring Lion.

In response, Iran has been launching drone and missile attacks on Israel and US military bases in the Middle East.
