A joint investigation has revealed that Israel is running a well-organized and extensive digital propaganda network to incite unrest in Iran and restore exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to power. The information was published by the Citizen Lab research organization at the University of Toronto in Canada and Israeli media outlets The Marker and Haaretz.

The report says that this campaign is being carried out in Persian using artificial intelligence (AI) technology with indirect funding from the Israeli government. Its aim is to create pro-monarchy public opinion among Iranians and incite discontent against the current regime. The network was particularly active during the Israeli attack on Tehran's Evin prison last year, spreading fake social media accounts, deepfake videos, and misleading information.

The investigation also revealed that the network was used to incite the general public with messages calling for bank robberies, prison breaks, and chaos. After Reza Pahlavi's visit to Israel in 2023, a planned campaign was intensified on social media to portray him as the "Crown Prince of Iran."

According to Citizen Lab, the timing of this digital campaign coincided with Israeli military operations, indicating direct state involvement. Experts have warned that such unethical digital influence could pose a serious threat to the long-term stability of the Middle East.
