In the midst of the tense situation between India and Pakistan in the wake of the recent armed attacks in Kashmir, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the leader of the pro-Khalistan organization 'Sikhs for Justice', has added fuel to the fire. In a video message, he publicly stated that if there is a war between India and Pakistan, the people of the Punjab region of India will stand by Pakistan.

Pannun said, "If there is a war, the people of Indian Punjab on the border will serve langar to the Pakistani army - that is, provide food and hospitality. We will not allow Indian soldiers to attack Pakistan through Punjab."

He directly warned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pannun claimed, "If India attacks Pakistan, then that will be the last war between Modi and India. Punjab will be freed from Indian occupation."

Pannun also gave a message to the Punjabi soldiers serving in the Indian army. He said, “Now is the time to reject Modi’s war policy. Pakistan is not the enemy of Sikhs. Rather, Pakistan is and will remain a friend of a future independent Khalistan. Once Punjab is independent, Pakistan will be our neighboring state.”

Pannun added, “This is not 1965 or 1971, this is 2025. I assure the people of Pakistan—we are standing by them like a rock. If any Indian army tries to cross Punjab into Pakistan, we will resist.”

The remarks have sparked a stir in Indian political circles. The Indian government has yet to officially respond to the issue.
