US President Donald Trump is taking new initiatives to reduce the birth rate and strengthen family values. A New York Times report said that the White House plans to provide financial assistance for childbirth and marriage to increase the birth rate.
The report said that these plans are to encourage mothers to have more children. These include cash payments for giving birth, scholarships for married couples, and a national medal for mothers who give birth to six or more children.
Proposed initiatives:
Baby Bonus: A one-time financial assistance of $ 5,000 to mothers for each new child.
Scholarship Benefits: 30 percent of the Fulbright Scholarship is allocated to married and single mothers.
National Medal of Motherhood: Honorary national recognition for mothers of six or more children.
IVF Subsidy: Additional subsidies and benefits for in vitro fertilization.
Experts say that if the birth rate continues to decline, the working-age population will shrink in the coming days and the economy will be under pressure. Therefore, they consider such measures to be timely.
