Israel has indefinitely suspended the release of Palestinian prisoners until the next hostages are released without a humiliating ceremony. Hamas has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of stalling for time.
Palestinians were eagerly waiting for the release of their loved ones at the cultural center of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah early Sunday. However, although the prisoners were supposed to be released from Israeli prisons, they did not receive their relatives by the end of the day.
Although Hamas released six Israeli hostages on Saturday as part of the ceasefire, Israel did not implement it, despite the fact that 620 Palestinian prisoners were supposed to be released in exchange. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu complained that the release of the latest released hostages was shown through a "humiliating ceremony." Therefore, he announced that if there is such a ceremony during the next release, the prisoners will not be released.
A Hamas spokesman said that Israel has violated the seventh round of prisoner exchanges. They also accused Netanyahu of conspiring to prolong the war.
Meanwhile, Israeli violence in the West Bank has reached a new level. The Palestinian news agency Wafa has alleged that hundreds of livestock were looted in the Israeli attack on Deir ez-Zor. In addition, many people suffered from respiratory problems due to tear gas in the operation in the city of Qusra.
