Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated the Palestinian people for their historic victory in the 15-month-long war against Israel in the Gaza Strip.
President Pezeshkian said at a cabinet meeting, "We congratulate the resistance people of Gaza for their strength and courage. They have achieved a great victory in their resistance against Israel."
He added that the resistance people of Gaza have set an example for other nations on how to stand up against terrorism.
According to Iranian news agency IRNA, the president's statement came after the Gaza-based resistance movement Hamas and Israel implemented the first phase of a ceasefire.
Israel was forced to accept a humiliating ceasefire agreement last Wednesday in the face of Hamas's continuous successful operations. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has long refused to accept the deal.
Over the past 15 months, more than 47,000 people have been killed in Israel's brutal offensive in the Gaza Strip, most of them women and children. The Iranian president described the massacre as a "perfect example of terrorism."
"While Israel and its backer, the United States, accuse Iran of supporting terrorism, in reality the Iranian nation is the biggest victim of terrorism," he said.
This historic resistance in Gaza is not only a great victory for the Palestinian people, but it will also serve as an example of resistance against terrorism worldwide.
