Asma al-Assad, the wife of ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, is not satisfied with her life in Moscow. It is heard that Asma has filed a divorce case against her husband Bashar. At the same time, she wants to leave Moscow and move to the UK. The Jerusalem Post reported this news citing Arab and Turkish media.

According to the BBC report, after Assad lost power on December 8, Asma's parents also took refuge in Russia. They wanted to be with their daughter and daughter-in-law. Asma al-Assad is a dual citizen of Britain and Syria. Although her parents are Syrian, Asma was born and raised in London. She studied at school and university in London. In 2000, at the age of 25, Asma moved to Syria permanently and married Bashar al-Assad in December of that year. They have three children - Hafez, Zain and Karim.

The report states that Asma had been planning to live in exile in London since the start of the civil war in Syria. Asma's father is a cardiologist and her mother Sahar is a retired diplomat.

Meanwhile, Bashar al-Assad's brother Maher al-Assad has also not been granted asylum in Russia. His request is still under consideration, according to Saudi and Turkish media. Maher and his family are under house arrest in Russia. However, there has been no direct comment from the Russian authorities on this.
