Republican candidate Donald Trump announced his victory in the US presidential election. On Wednesday, he gave a victory speech to party workers and supporters in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Thanking the US voters at the beginning of the speech, Trump said, "I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected the 47th and 45th President of the United States."
The Republican candidate said he also won the popular vote. However, counting of votes in many states is still going on. Still, Trump is expected to win the majority of the vote in this election. In this regard, Trump said, America has given us an unprecedented and strong mandate.
He also praised his party's vice presidential candidate, JD Vance. Trump said JD Vance is a good candidate. He called his comeback speech the greatest political comeback in American history.
Elon Musk, the world's top billionaire and chief executive officer (CEO) of US technology company Tesla, has been supporting Donald Trump since the beginning of this election. Trump called this American billionaire a "star". He said, Elon Musk is a star. He also dedicated the winning speech to this technology billionaire. He also described Musk as a wonderful person.
Trump was accompanied by wife Melania Trump and his children during the speech in West Palm Beach. During the speech, Donald Trump thanked the voters as well as his wife Melania Trump. He said that being the President of the United States is the most important job in the world. The principle of his government will be to keep promises.
According to the US press AP, 270 of the 538 Electoral College votes are needed to win the election, but Donald has received 267 votes so far. And his rival candidate Kamala Harris got 224 votes.
