Israel has launched massive attacks on several military installations in Syria. At least 18 people were killed. Another 37 people were injured. These attacks took place on several military installations in central Syria last Sunday night.
British media BBC reported this information in a report on Monday (September 9) night.
According to reports, at least 18 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on several military installations in central Syria, according to the country's health minister. The state news agency Sana Hassan Al-Gabbash said 37 others were wounded in the attack which took place in the vicinity of Masyaf in Hama province last Sunday night.
However, a UK-based monitoring group said the Israeli attack killed 26 people and targeted a scientific research center near Masyaf, which was mainly used to make weapons.
The Israeli military said it would not comment on foreign media reports about the attack. However, the Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the attack as a "brazen aggression" and the Iranian Foreign Ministry called it an "illegal attack".
Incidentally, since the civil war in Syria started in 2011, Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks on the country. The main targets of these attacks by the Israeli forces are the fighters of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Syrian army.
Regional tensions have flared since Israel's invasion of Gaza began on October 7 last year, and such Israeli attacks have increased since then.
In addition, on April 1, Israel attacked the Iranian consulate in Damascus, the capital of Syria, and killed seven high-ranking military officers, including two generals of the country's Revolutionary Guards.
Iran's military fired hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel in retaliation for the attack.
