Elon Musk's Hypersonic Fighter: A New Revolution in Aviation Technology

Published: 02:08 31 July 2025
A new revolution has begun in aviation technology under the leadership of world-renowned entrepreneur Elon Musk. His company SpaceX and Tesla Advanced Aviation have jointly developed the world's first hypersonic fighter jet, which recently successfully flew. This fighter jet, capable of flying at seven times the speed of sound, that is, at a speed of about 8,600 kilometers per hour, has surpassed any existing fighter jet (such as the F-35, Mach 1.6) by many times.
This new fighter jet is a groundbreaking innovation not only in terms of speed, but also in terms of technological revolution. It uses a state-of-the-art ramjet-scramjet engine, which can operate without oxygen at high speeds and is effective even outside the atmosphere. The aircraft has advanced stealth technology, through which it can be almost invisible to enemy radar and infrared systems.
This state-of-the-art fighter jet is operated by Tesla's AI-based full self-driving control system. It is capable of making decisions ten times faster than a pilot, especially in the event of an emergency. The aircraft can carry hypersonic missiles and complete attacks before enemy defense systems can react.
The first test flight of this fighter jet was completed in June 2025 from the Boca Chica Spaceport in Texas. It also competed with the previous record holder, NASA's X-43 (Mach 9.6). The US Air Force has announced that it wants to make this technology operational by 2026.
The discovery has caused a stir around the world. The Pentagon has called it a "sixth generation fighter jet", which indicates a huge leap in military technology. Russia (Avangard) and China (DF-ZF) have already accelerated their own hypersonic programs. On the other hand, aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin have also intensified their investment and research in hypersonic technology.
Elon Musk said, “This is not just a fighter jet, but will redefine the future of war, travel and technology.”
According to him, within the next 10 years, a hypersonic passenger jet will be built based on this technology, which will be able to reach Sydney from New York in just 2 hours. At the same time, it will also facilitate space tourism, which will usher in a new hypersonic era for humanity.
