The number of children who died due to measles and suspected measles has exceeded 250

The number of deaths due to measles and measles symptoms in the country has exceeded 250 in the last one and a half months. According to the latest data, a total of 251 children have died.
The report of the Directorate General of Health Services said that out of these, 42 children have died due to confirmed measles. The remaining 209 children died with measles symptoms. At the same time, 4,460 children have tested positive for measles and 30,607 children have been admitted to hospitals with symptoms.
The report also said that the number of infected and dead is highest in Dhaka division. In this division alone, 124 children have died due to measles and symptoms and 16,710 children have been infected.
In the last 24 hours, 1,287 new children have been infected with measles symptoms and 11 children have died.
Experts say that due to the rapid spread of the infection, it is necessary to strengthen vaccination activities on an urgent basis to control the situation. In addition, emphasis is being placed on parental awareness and rapid identification systems in healthcare.
