According to court sources, on January 17, 2023, at 2:45 PM, BGB members received information that a smuggler on a motorcycle was coming towards Panchvulat village of Sharsha Upazila to smuggle gold to India.


Immediately BGB team took position in that village. After some time, BGB saw a young man coming on a motorcycle through the dirt road of Naikona Battala. When he asked him to stop, he quickly tried to run away on a motorcycle. Then BGB chased it and arrested it.
Later, BGB members recovered 63 pieces of gold bars from the motorcycle's chassis. The weight of which is seven kilograms, three hundred and thirty-seven grams. The market price is 5 crore 89 lakh 31 thousand one hundred and 94 taka.

In this incident, Habildar Nasim Uddin of BGB Camp Sharsha filed a case against Abdur Razzak at Benapole Port Police Station. As it was proven, the judge ordered 14 years of rigorous imprisonment and another two months of imprisonment without paying a fine of 10,000 taka in the presence of Razzak.
