Bangladesh Bank has outlined special financing and incentive schemes designed to help the country's cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprise (CMSME) entrepreneurs expand their businesses. A new episode of the ‘Bangladesh Bank Podcast’ discusses the central bank's special pre-financing schemes and loan facilities aimed at easing access to finance for entrepreneurs in the CMSME sector.
Shahanaz Parvin, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank’s SME and Special Programmes Department, participated as a guest in the episode titled ‘Special Incentive Schemes and Financing Facilities for the SME and CMSME Sectors.’ The program was hosted by Golam Rabbi.
The discussion highlighted existing special financing facilities for both new and experienced entrepreneurs, the potential role of these funds in business expansion, and how entrepreneurs can access information regarding these benefits.
The CMSME sector plays a vital role in Bangladesh's economy by creating jobs, boosting local production, and fostering the growth of small businesses. Such financing initiatives can be particularly crucial for entrepreneurs struggling to expand their businesses due to a lack of necessary capital.
However, specific details regarding the maximum loan amount, interest rates, collateral requirements, and application procedures under the scheme were not fully outlined. To obtain precise information on these matters, entrepreneurs should consult the relevant directives issued by Bangladesh Bank and review the terms and conditions of the participating banks.
