4 containers of fragrant rice were stuck before export to Singapore-Saudi

On Thursday (September 26), a private depot was raided and four containers kept for export were seized by the officers of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department. Physical examination found 42 tons of perfume oil in these containers. which were stored for export to Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
On inquiry, it was revealed that the consignment was exported by a company named Abhijat Food and Beverage Industries Limited. It was handled by C&F firm NR Enterprises for export. Customs intelligence officials raided M/s Ishaq Brothers Depot Limited based on tip-off.
Deputy Director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate of Chittagong deleted. Ayesha Siddika said, the attempt to export fragrant rice has been thwarted by false declaration. In this case, legal action will be taken against those concerned as per Export Policy 2021-2024 and Customs Act, 2023.
