Popular actress of Dhakai film Parimoni is returning to the big screen after a maternity break. Her new movie 'Dodore Golpo', which began shooting in October 2023, is going to be released on Eid-ul-Fitr.
The film's co-producer Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan said, "The dubbing and background music (BGM) work has been completed. Now only color grading and editing are left. InshaAllah, we will be able to release the movie on Eid after completing everything."
Parimoni plays the central character Kajal Chowdhury in the movie. Simon Sadiq will be seen opposite her, who plays the role of a photographer named 'Raihan'. Parimani said about her comeback, “This movie is very special to me. I was able to stand in front of the camera again after a maternity break. Every work is important, but there is a kind of emotion associated with ‘Dodo Golpo’. I hope the audience will love it.”
The director of the movie, Reza Ghatak, wrote the story, screenplay, and dialogues himself. He said, “We have portrayed the agricultural and social life of Bangladesh through the struggle of a mother. The journey of Kajal Chowdhury’s life of almost twenty years has been highlighted in the movie.”
A government grant of 6 million taka was received in the 2021-22 fiscal year to make the movie. A total of 87 artists have acted in it, and the shooting took place in more than 25 locations across the country. Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan said, “This is the story of a self-reliant mother’s two-decade-long struggle. After the mother’s constant search, she finds her lost child. We have made the movie with great care and hope that it will find a place in the hearts of the audience.”
Parimoni is currently in Malaysia celebrating her birthday and is not currently working on any new films. On the other hand, protagonist Simon Sadiq is currently in the United States; he will move there in August 2024.
