The trend of portraying the political relations, tensions and conflicts of neighboring countries in mainstream Indian cinema is very old. However, when the story is told centered on Bangladesh, the audience's interest usually increases several times. This time, the much-discussed Tollywood film 'Raktabeej 2' has given a new dimension to that continuity.
The recently released teaser shows a character modeled after Bangladesh's former autocratic Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, played by the powerful actress Seema Biswas. The character has become the center of discussion among the audience in just a few seconds of her presence.
The teaser, released on August 14, has a terrifying warning at the very beginning—"Every time India and Bangladesh come closer, radical terrorism has reared its head." Then a female voice is heard—"What is terrorism somewhere, may be struggle somewhere else."
This dialogue makes it clear that the political context of Bangladesh and the India-Bangladesh relationship will emerge as an important element in the sequel's story.
In addition to Seema Biswas, the teaser also features renowned actor Victor Banerjee in the role of an experienced politician. Along with this, Abir Chatterjee and Mimi Chakraborty, who are present in action-oriented roles, are full of their familiar energy. Like the previous film, Pankaj Singh and Sanyukta Mitra have returned to their roles with fluent acting.
The big surprise this time is Ankush Hazra, who will be seen in a completely different and mysterious form. Kaushani Mukherjee, Nusrat Jahan and Kanchan Mallick have also caught the eye—who have enriched the film with their acting and presence.
The film will be released on September 26, just before Durga Puja. As a result, this year's Puja, viewers will be able to enjoy a Tollywood blockbuster filled with political thrills, suspense, and action-drama—'Raktabeej 2'.
