The government has taken the initiative to distribute free school uniforms to about 2 lakh primary school students in the country within the current fiscal year. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman gave this information while highlighting the progress of development activities in the National Assembly.
Responding to a question in the 13th National Assembly session on Wednesday (April 1), he said that this initiative will be implemented as part of the next 180-day work plan. Along with this, various short, medium and long-term development plans in the education sector were also highlighted.
The Prime Minister said that special importance is being given to technical education to improve the skills of students. For this purpose, 9,000 teachers of technical educational institutions in the country will be provided with tabs. In addition, initiatives have been taken to set up 3,832 multimedia classrooms and teach Italian and Japanese to 172 students.
He also said that there is a plan to introduce free Wi-Fi facilities in 418 technical and madrasa educational institutions by June 2026.
Those concerned believe that if these initiatives are implemented, the quality of primary and technical education will improve and students will become more skilled in using modern technology. In addition, students from poor families will benefit from receiving free school uniforms.
