Jessore District Student Welfare Association welcomes new students at IBU

The Jessore District Students' Welfare Association has welcomed new students from Jessore district to the Islamic University (IBU). The day-long program, organized in room 116 of Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium on Saturday (October 18), welcomed the new students with flowers, crests and key rings. Later, the day-long program concluded with the unveiling of the organization's annual magazine and a tree plantation program on the campus.

The program was presided over by the organization's president, Shakib Babu Chakladar, and supervised by General Secretary Fahim Mahmud. The organization's advisor and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Professor of the Department of Mathematics, Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman, Professor of the Department of Dawah and Islamic Studies, Dr. Masud Al Mahdi, and Assistant Professor of the Department of Mathematics, Ms. Shamima Nasrin, were present as guests. About a hundred students from Jessore district were present at the time, which made the event lively.

Addressing the freshers at the meeting, President Shakib Babu Chakladar said, “You should develop the habit of studying regularly for at least two hours every day, keep notes, and increase your leadership and communication skills by joining various organizations.” He also said, “You should stay away from drugs, gambling, and illegal relationships, and stay healthy by praying, sleeping, eating, and drinking regularly.”

He especially advised the female students to be careful, be aware of safety, play sports, and cook for themselves, as well as to research for higher education abroad in the future, obtain certificates, and maintain good relations with their teachers.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Professor Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman said, “‘Nakshi Kantha Flower Fair, Khejur Jor Jessore District’ ​​– the students of this traditional district have developed a bond at the Islamic University. The culture of mutual cooperation and unity that is seen among the Jessoreans is very commendable. May this unity be permanent at the IBU and in the future, the Jessoreans will leave their mark of talent and humanity at home and abroad.”

It is to be noted that the Jessore District Student Welfare Association has been working for a long time at the Islamic University for the purpose of mutual cooperation, unity and development of the students of Jessore. The organization has been conducting various service activities including admission assistance, organizing cultural programs, and providing emergency assistance.
