The case documents and statement reveal that while he was an MP and State Minister for Information, Dr. Murad Hasan participated in an online talk show and made defamatory and obscene remarks against members of the top family of BNP with malicious intent. Jamalpur District Truck Owners Association Vice President and former Chhatra Dal leader Lion Rumel Sarkar filed the case as the plaintiff. Talk show host Mohiuddin Helal Nahid has also been made an accused in the case. Plaintiff's lawyer Moniruzzaman confirmed that although summons were issued against the accused earlier, they did not appear in court and remained in hiding. Later, as the accused were absconding despite the issuance of arrest warrants, the last legal step was to publish a notice in this newspaper. If the accused do not surrender to the court after this process, then according to the law, the trial will be conducted in their absence.
