Three-way clash over bKash transactions in Brahmanbaria, torch-lit overnight attack, 30 injured

At least 30 people, including journalists, were injured in a three-way clash over money transactions using mobile financial services in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria. The clash took place between the people of Paschim Para, Purba Para and Dakshin Arifile areas of Notun Habli village from Sunday evening (April 26) for several hours.
According to local sources, two-three weeks ago, Borhan Mia of Paschim Para had an argument with Shihab Mia of Purba Para after he was late sending money through bKash to Shihab's shop in Purba Para. Although the matter was later resolved, tension prevailed in the area.
On Sunday afternoon, when Shihab went to Paschim Para with some people from Dakshin Arifile area to play football in a field, he again got into an argument with Borhan. At one stage, Borhan and his people attacked Shihab and his friends. When the news spread, the three sides engaged in a clash with local weapons in the evening.
The entire area turned into a battlefield with torchlights, bricks and stones thrown and chases in the darkness of the night. At least 30 people from both sides, including journalists, were injured in this. The injured have been treated at various hospitals.
In this regard, Sarail Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Jahangir Alam said that after receiving the information, the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. An investigation is underway to find out the real reason for the clash and necessary legal action is being taken in this incident.
