Bloody clash over dominance in Sonargaon, at least 10 injured, tension in the area

A fierce clash between two parties over dominance has taken place in Sonargaon, Narayanganj. At least 10 people from both sides have been seriously injured in this. Additional police have been deployed in the area to control the situation.
The clash began on Thursday (April 2) morning in the Panchani Shantinagar area of Pirojpur union of the upazila. According to local sources, there was tension between the supporters of the Russell Group and the Abdul Hamid Group over dominance and past enmity in the area for a long time.
Due to this, both sides got involved in a clash with local weapons that day. At one stage, the area turned into a battlefield. During the clash, several houses and shops were vandalized, which spread panic among the locals.
The injured were quickly rescued and sent to Sonargaon Upazila Health Complex and Dhaka Medical College Hospital. According to hospital sources, the condition of some of the injured is critical.
Upon receiving the news of the incident, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Currently, the situation is tense in the area. Police have been deployed at important places to avoid further clashes.
Officer-in-Charge of Sonargaon Police Station Md. Mohibullah said that those involved in the violence are being identified and legal action is being taken against them. Although the situation is now under control, the tension has not completely subsided.
