Youth Dal leader Rashikul Anam Rashu killed in public shooting in Khulna

A youth Dal leader was shot dead in public in Khulna city. The deceased was identified as Rashikul Anam Rashu (38), who was the joint secretary of the Daulatpur police station committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party's affiliate organization Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal.
The attack took place in front of the KDA Kalpataru Market on Arangghata Road under Daulatpur police station at around 11:30 am on Monday (March 16). Rashikul Anam Rashu is a resident of the local Deyana area and is the son of Shariful Anam. He had earlier also served as the organizing secretary of the Daulatpur police station committee of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.
According to eyewitnesses, apart from politics, Rashu used to run a brick and sand business next to the KDA Kalpataru Market. He was staying at his business establishment on Monday morning. At that time, some miscreants suddenly came there and opened fire on him indiscriminately. He fell on the spot when one of the bullets hit his head. The attackers quickly left the area after the attack.
Hearing the sound of the gunshots, people nearby rushed to rescue him in a seriously injured condition and took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty declared him dead there.
The hospital doctor confirmed Ashraf Rashu's death.
Regarding the incident, Shafiqul Islam said that the police visited the spot after receiving information. Law enforcement agencies are working to investigate the cause of the murder and identify and arrest those involved.
