Big success in anti-drug operation in Durgapur: Husband and wife arrested with 1,800 pieces of Yaba

The Narcotics Control Department has achieved significant success in its anti-drug operation in Durgapur upazila of Netrokona. A husband and wife were arrested red-handed with 1,800 pieces of Yaba in an operation conducted based on secret information. They were arrested from the Jhanjail area of the upazila on Monday (January 19) afternoon.
Netrokona Narcotics Control Department Assistant Director Md. Nazmul Haque confirmed the matter and said that it is initially believed that the arrested people had been involved in drug dealing for a long time. The arrested couple are Md. Abdur Razzak (29) and his wife Md. Jerin Khatun (25), residents of Dakshin Bhabanipur village of Durgapur upazila.
According to sources in the Narcotics Control Department, on Monday afternoon, based on secret information, Mymensingh Divisional Detective Office Assistant Director Md. A special team led by Kawsarul Hasan Roni conducted a raid in the Jhanjail area of Durgapur. During the raid, a large quantity of Yaba was recovered from the suspects and they were immediately arrested.
In this incident, Sub-Inspector Azgar Ali of the Narcotics Control Department has filed a case against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act at Durgapur Police Station. The accused will be sent to court after the legal process, the officials concerned said.
Assistant Director Md. Nazmul Haque also said that the Narcotics Control Department's campaign to eradicate drugs will continue and no one involved in such crimes will be spared.
