Process surveyor from Atwari dies after being hit by truck in Panchagarh

A motorcyclist named Anwarul Islam (45) died after being hit by a truck in Panchagarh. The tragic accident occurred on the Karatoya Bridge in Panchagarh city around 9 am on Thursday (December 4).
The deceased Anwarul Islam is a resident of Dokropara area of Panchagarh Municipality. He was working as a process surveyor in Atwari Upazila by profession.
According to police and local sources, Anwarul left for Atwari from home on a motorcycle in the morning. While climbing the Karatoya Bridge, his motorcycle hit the rear wheel of a truck coming from the opposite direction. He lost control and fell on the road, crushed by the truck's wheels and died on the spot.
On receiving the information, Panchagarh Sadar Police Station and Fire Service members reached the spot, recovered the body and took it to the police station.
Panchagarh Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Qayyum Ali said that the truck driver and the truck assistant have been arrested after the accident. However, the truck driver has fled. A case is being processed at the police station in this incident.
The tragic death has cast a shadow of mourning over the area.
