Savar Disabled Woman Hanufa Murder Case: Property Misappropriation Was the Main Motive, Newly Revealed

Published: 07:06 27 November 2025
All the horrific details behind the murder case of Savar disabled woman Hanufa are coming to light. The investigation has revealed that she was killed in a planned manner only to misappropriate property. Hanufa was brutally murdered by strangling her while performing Tarawih prayers on the 20th of the holy Ramadan on April 12, 2023.
Family and case documents mention that Hanufa's murder was committed by her own brothers Mohammad Ali Panchu, Farzana, Fahad, Russell, Joynal, sisters Jalema, Latufa, Ajufa and sons Kamal, Kamal's second wife Mamun, Abul Kalam and some relatives and some land grabbers in the area. After the murder, they tried to frame Hanufa's husband Harun Or Rashid Tushar. However, based on the fact that the main killer's shirt button was loose at the scene, the police quickly arrested one of the accused and he confessed to the murder under Section 164. He is currently in jail, although the rest of the accused are allegedly outside the law due to the shelter of various influential circles.
Even after the murder, fraud began with property. At first, the killers claimed that Hanufa had never married. Later, when the marriage certificate was submitted to the investigating officer and law enforcement, they prepared a fake divorce certificate with a backdated date. During the investigation, it was revealed in the confession of the Qazi that another woman was dressed as Hanufa and made to sign that fake divorce certificate. After the investigation, the PBI proved this divorce certificate to be illegal in the charge sheet.
However, it did not end here - the killers prepared an inheritance certificate with false information, excluding Hanufa's husband from the heirs. The current UP chairman, upon learning of the matter, canceled that certificate. Even then, they are accused of illegally disposing of Hanufa's name in exchange for money at the AC Land office. Even when Hanufa was alive, her inheritance certificate was prepared, which is clear evidence of fraud.
Meanwhile, in order to get the accused out of jail, these killers are regularly trying to involve Hanufa's husband, Harun or Rashid Tushar, in false cases of threats, intimidation and harassment. Due to insecurity, he is not even able to go home.
The latest update on the incident is that on November 26 (Wednesday), the killers cut down and sold the trees on Hanufa's disposing land. Upon learning of the matter, Tushar filed a complaint at the Birulia police outpost. SI Wahab immediately inspected the scene with ASI Zakaria after learning about the incident. The killers, Qadir and Kamal Gangra, fled on seeing the police.
Harun or Rashid Tushar, the husband of Hanufa, who was killed amid insecurity and ongoing harassment, has called on law enforcement and all concerned to ensure justice for the murder of disabled woman Hanufa and not to deprive her of her right to legal inheritance.
