A protest march, human chain and rally were held on the initiative of businessmen in the Tunirhat area of Panchagarh Sadar Upazila after allegations of false cases being filed against two businessmen. The business community organized this protest program at Tunirhat Bazar in Kamatkajoldighi Union on Monday afternoon.
First, a protest march was taken out from Battala of Tunirhat Bazar. The procession returned to the same place after circumambulating various roads of the market. Then a human chain and rally were held. In addition to the businessmen of Tunirhat Bazar, local common people also participated in it.
Kamatkajoldighi Union BNP Organizing Secretary Robin, Ward No. 7 BNP President Moinul, Tunirhat Bazar Merchants Association President Abdul Gani, General Secretary Motahar Ali, Treasurer Joni, etc. addressed the rally.
The speakers alleged that a person named Lablu has filed a false case against Tunirhat Bazaar traders Khairul and Khatibar. They said that Lablu is a litigator and a fraudster who has harassed many people in false cases before. The speakers claimed that the traders are being harassed by taking the remaining goods from them and filing false cases, which have no real basis.
The traders warned that if the case is not withdrawn immediately, they will launch a strict movement including road blockade. If necessary, they will shut down all the shops in the market and launch an indefinite movement.
