Fake MBBS doctor arrested in Durgapur

A mobile court has arrested a fake doctor named Prakin Sangma from the Phanda area bordering Netrokona Durgapur Upazila. On Thursday (November 20) afternoon, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Mizanur Rahman conducted a raid on his private chamber in that area and arrested him through a mobile court.
It has been learned from the Durgapur Upazila Health Complex that a young man named Prakin Sangma has been providing medical services in Phanda Bazar area of Durgapur Sadar Union for a long time. Not only that, he also provides herbal and homeopathic treatment in his chamber. There are also allegations against him of prescribing various types of antibiotics. A drive was conducted through a mobile court today to stop this drive.
In this regard, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Mizanur Rahman said, "Based on various information, we have come to know that a fake doctor named Prakin Sangma has been cheating patients in Phanda Bazar for a long time. Today, when we reached the spot, we found that his morning certificate was fake and he did not know what MBBS was. Later, he was fined Tk 15,000 and sentenced to 7 days in jail. We will continue such operations in the public interest."
