Pistol, bullets and phencidyl seized in Atwari

A country-made pistol, two rounds of bullets and six bottles of phencidyl have been seized by the joint forces from the Sonapatila border area of Atwari upazila in Panchagarh.
The operation was conducted on Sunday (October 27) afternoon with the participation of the district administration, intelligence agency NSI and members of the Sonapatila camp of Panchagarh 18 BGB battalion.
Inspector ASM Moin Uddin Kabir of the Narcotics Control Department, Panchagarh said that a raid was conducted at the house of Abdul Quddus in Paschimpara village of Sonapatila under the leadership of Upazila Executive Magistrate Asib Ali with the assistance of NSI and BGB members.
In the operation conducted on the basis of secret information, a country-made pistol, two rounds of bullets, six bottles of Indian phencidyl and two button phones were recovered buried underground in a thatched house on the east side of the house.
However, no one could be arrested during the operation.
Inspector ASM Moin Uddin Kabir of the Narcotics Control Department said, “The process of filing a case against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act and the Arms Act is underway after seizing weapons and drugs. Efforts are ongoing to arrest those involved in the incident.”
