A teenage motorcyclist has died in a tragic road accident in Palashbari, Gaibandha district. The accident occurred at around 4 pm on Friday (October 17, 2025) at the Dholbhanga bus stand area on the Gaibandha-Palashbari regional highway. The deceased has been identified as Rakib (17), son of Nazrul Islam of Asmatpur village in Kishoregari union of Palashbari upazila.

According to local sources, a passenger bus heading to Gaibandha collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. After the collision, the motorcycle rider Rakib was thrown off and died on the spot. The accident was so horrific that the motorcycle was twisted and twisted.

In this regard, local UP member Morshed Alam said, “The bus was speeding at the time of the accident. Rakib died on the spot after the head-on collision.”

Upon receiving the information, Palashbari police reached the spot quickly, recovered the body and took it to the police station. In this regard, the officer-in-charge of the police station (OC Zulfikar Ali Bhutto) confirmed the truth of the incident and said that arrangements are being made to hand over the body of the deceased to the family after completing the legal process.

Locals said that accidents often occur on the Gaibandha-Palashbari regional road due to vehicles driving without respecting the speed limit. Locals claim that such accidents will continue unless a speed control system and speed breakers are installed here.
