Dhaka District North Detective Branch (DB) has arrested nine robbers in the case of robbing Tk 2.5 million from a ready-made garment factory in Savar. Based on a secret tip-off, they were arrested by conducting raids from different areas of Savar and the capital.

According to police sources, Tk 2.5 million was robbed from Delicate Garments in Rajfulbaria area of ​​Savar in Turag area of ​​Savar on September 25, under the guise of DB police. After the incident, a case was filed at Savar Model Police Station. After that, Dhaka District North Detective Branch (DB) started a shadow investigation into the case.

During the raid, Tk 5 million, walkie-talkies, toy pistols, RAB uniforms, handcuffs and other equipment were recovered from the detainees. The nine arrested robbers are: Shahidul Islam, Sumon Mia, Siddiqur Rahman alias Idris, Afzal Hossain alias Ujjwal, Mamun Ahmed Mintu, Mehedi Hasan, Shamim Ahmed Sabuj, Shahadat and Farad Hossain. Among them, Shahidul Islam is the head of the robber group.

DB Additional Superintendent of Police Zahid Khan said that there are multiple cases against the arrested people in various police stations, including robbery and murder. Currently, they have been sent to court on a seven-day remand application. He further said that the operation to recover the remaining 2 million taka that was robbed is ongoing.
