Attempt to set fire to bus by pouring petrol in capital, youth arrested

Police have arrested a youth named Md. Aminur Rahman alias Amin (26) while trying to set fire to a staff bus by pouring petrol in the capital's Adabor. The incident took place on Wednesday (August 13) on the embankment road adjacent to Sunibid Housing Nabadiganta Adarsh High School. A plastic bottle filled with petrol was recovered from the scene.
Deputy Police Commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Department of the DMP, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, said that Aminur and some unknown people came on a motorcycle and tried to set fire to the bus. When the locals noticed, they detained Aminur and beat him up, while his accomplices fled.
Later, the patrol police of Adabor police station reached the spot and rescued him and sent him to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty later referred him to the Neuro Science Hospital. After receiving primary treatment, he was taken into police custody the same day. Police said legal action is underway in the incident.
