The family of Pir Abdur Rahman in Philipnagar village of Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia will not file any case in the murder of Pir Abdur Rahman. The deceased's elder brother Fazlur Rahman said that they do not want to go through legal channels to avoid trouble. Even after 48 hours of the incident, the police have not been able to arrest anyone yet.
The family claims that it is difficult for them to file a case due to their age and physical condition. They say, "Once someone is gone, they cannot be found again." Daulatpur Police Station OC Arifur Rahman said that the family has not come, but a drive is underway to catch those involved.
According to locals, tension arose after an old video was circulated on social media. The video was accused of insulting religion, which spread anger in the area.
As a result, more than a hundred people attacked the court, vandalized and set fire to it, and hacked the Pir to death. Several people were injured in the attack, later the fire service arrived and brought the fire under control. The situation in the area is still tense.
