The anti-discrimination student movement has announced a 'March for Justice' program across the country on Wednesday to protest against killings, mass arrests, attacks, lawsuits and disappearances. Students are protesting in Chittagong as part of this program. The protesting students broke the police barrier and entered the court premises. Pro-BNP lawyers joined them. At around 12 noon, the protesters were standing in the court premises ignoring the rain. At that time, pro-Awami League lawyers stopped the protesters in front of the annex building.
It can be seen from the ground that since morning, a large number of police, BGB and other members of law and order forces have been seen at all the gates of the court building. No cars were allowed to enter the court at this time. The litigants also walked.
Around 10:30 am, students started gathering in front of the Jahoor hawkers market-adjacent gate of the court building. A large number of policemen were deployed at the gate at that time. The students started protesting at the Zilla Parishad square near the gate of the court building. At that time, the road was closed in that area.
Then at 12:30 noon, the students took a procession and crossed the police barrier through the Bangladesh Bank-adjacent gate to the court premises. Students and pro-BNP lawyers gathered in front of Sonali Bank in the court building. Pro-Awami lawyers prevented them from going up there. Then there was a gentle push. However, no clash occurred.
