Three-year-old child in critical condition after consuming poison thinking it was food in Durgapur

A three-year-old child named Mim is in critical condition after consuming poison thinking it was food in Durgapur, Netrokona. The incident took place in Chandigarh Mou village of the upazila on Wednesday (December 31) afternoon. Later, the child was referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital at 3:30 pm.
According to local sources, the child's parents live in Dhaka. Mim, who was staying with her grandmother in the village, consumed poison kept at home. After a while, when she started vomiting, the family members quickly took her to Durgapur Upazila Health Complex.
Hospital Medical Officer Dr. Deepa Sarkar said, "The child consumed poison thinking it was food. Initial treatment was given, but as her condition was critical, she was sent to Mymensingh Medical College."
