Christmas celebrated by Christians in Tetulia with message of peace and harmony

Christmas, the biggest religious festival of Christians, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervor in Tetulia, Panchagarh. The local Christian community commemorated the birth of Jesus Christ through various day-long programs and celebrated the festival in an atmosphere of prayer, joy and harmony.
On Thursday (December 25) morning, special prayers were organized on the occasion of Christmas in various churches and places of worship in Tetulia Upazila. At the beginning of the prayer, the Mahakirtan of Jesus Christ was sung and later prayers were offered for world peace, human welfare and harmony among people. Christian men and women of all ages participated in the prayer.
This time, special Christmas prayers were held simultaneously at various Catholic churches including Saddhi Cecilia Church, Maynaguri Kamatpara Church, Kaldaspara Balabari Church, Sankarpara Church, and Dorjipara Church in Tetulia. On the occasion of Christmas, the churches were decorated with colorful lights and flowers. In addition, religious ceremonies were held in the churches of Catholic Christians in various villages of the upazila.
In the morning, a special prayer was held at the Good Shepherd Cathedral in the Kaldaspara Balabari Church area of Buraburi, Tetulia. In this, Bishop Zervas Rosario of Tetulia diocese spoke, highlighting the life philosophy of Jesus Christ, the greatness of forgiveness and love. He called for people to avoid violence and hatred and live a life of good-heartedness.
After the special prayer, a cake was cut at the Good Shepherd Cathedral to mark the birth of Jesus Christ. Joy and excitement spread among the devout Christians present at this time.
Earlier, Christmas ceremonies began in the homes of Christians from Wednesday night. Decorating houses, lighting, prayers and family gatherings created a festive atmosphere in the entire area.
In addition to the special Christmas prayer on Thursday, other events throughout the day included exchanging greetings, feasting, sports and cultural programs. By participating in these events, people of the Christian community shared the joy of Christmas with each other, and a unique atmosphere of peace and harmony was created throughout Tetulia.
