Victory Day celebrated with due dignity in Durgapur

In Durgapur, Netrokona, the Victory Day was celebrated with due dignity by firing 31 cannons in the morning. The day was celebrated with various events throughout the day on Tuesday.
On this occasion, the Upazila Administration, Upazila BNP and its affiliated organizations, Muktijoddha Command Council, Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee, Durgapur Municipality, CPB, Durgapur Press Club, and various social, cultural and educational institutions laid wreaths and the day was inaugurated with readings from the holy scriptures and the national anthem at the Susang Government College ground. Later, under the chairmanship of UNO Afroza Afsana, all the brave freedom fighters were welcomed with floral greetings and Upazila Executive Officer Afroza Afsana spoke highlighting the significance of the day.
Later, a parade was held with the participation of primary, secondary and higher secondary level students. Later, the heroic freedom fighters were felicitated at the Zilla Parishad Auditorium and a 3-day Victory Fair was inaugurated at the Upazila Parishad premises. At this time, heroic freedom fighters, heads of all departments, leaders of Upazila BNP and other political parties, representatives of local print and electronic media, students of schools and colleges, and local dignitaries were present. In the afternoon, prayers were held at various temples and mosques for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs, and in the afternoon, a friendly football tournament was held. In the afternoon, prizes were distributed among the winners of the drawing and writing competition at the Upazila Parishad premises, and a discussion meeting on Victory Day was held.
The speakers at the discussion meeting said that by presenting the correct history of the great Liberation War to the new generation, students should be discussed to be educated in moral education as a craftsman of nation building, and everyone was thanked for participating in various events throughout the day on behalf of the Upazila administration. Later, the day ended with a pleasant cultural program by the Shilpakala Academy.
