Upazila administration conducts drive to control air pollution in Tetulia, Panchagarh, fines businessman

joint drive has been conducted by the Upazila administration and the Department of Environment to control air pollution in Tetulia, Panchagarh. On Wednesday (November 19) afternoon, a mobile court was conducted in the Haradighi New Market area of Tentulia Upazila and a businessman was fined Tk 5,000 for creating air pollution by openly storing construction materials on the road.
The Upazila administration said that the concerned businessman was storing construction materials on the road in an uncovered state without permission, which was causing disruption to traffic and air pollution. The mobile court immediately imposed the fine and collected it.
At the same time, other businessmen in the area adjacent to the Tirnoihat-Shalbahan-Haradighi-Buraburi road in Tentulia Upazila were also instructed to store construction materials away from the road and properly, so that air pollution and public suffering do not increase.
The campaign was led by Tetulia Upazila Administration Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate S. M. Akash. Panchagarh Environment Department Assistant Director Md. Yusuf Ali served as the prosecutor.
The Environment Department said that such campaigns will be conducted regularly in the future to protect the environment, improve air quality and protect public interest.
