The notorious drug trafficking couple Shipra Khatun and Babul Hossain of Chuadanga city have been arrested again by the police. They were arrested in a joint operation by the Bangladesh Army and the police on Thursday (October 9) evening. During the operation, a large amount of Yaba, cash and several mobile phones were recovered from them.

During this time, 1,708 pieces of Yaba tablets, cash of Tk 3,16,667 and 7 mobile phones (out of which 2 Android and 5 button phones) were recovered from them.

The OC further said that the couple had been running a drug business in Chuadanga town and its surrounding areas for a long time. There are multiple cases against them under the Narcotics Control Act. After being arrested every time, they were released on bail and started the drug business again.

According to local sources, the Shipra-Babul couple is notorious as drug dealers who have been arrested "hundred times" in Chuadanga town. The locals had been demanding their arrest for a long time. Finally, the joint operation of the army and the police reflected that demand.

The arrested have been handed over to Chuadanga Sadar Police Station. Police sources said that they will be produced before the court on Friday (October 10).
