12 businesses burned in Tangail

12 business establishments including 3 jewelery shops were gutted in a terrible fire at upazila Kalibari Road in Tangail's Mirzapur. The fire was brought under control after 4 hours with the efforts of police, locals and fire service. The affected businessmen said that the amount of damage is around 8 crore rupees.
This incident happened on Tuesday (July 16) early night.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started from a tea shop adjacent to Kacha Bazar on Kalibari Road around 4 am on Tuesday morning. As the houses were made of tin, the fire spread to the nearby shops in no time. On receiving the information, the police of Mirzapur police station, members of four units of fire service of Tangail and Kaliakoi upazilas tried to control the fire.
12 businesses including RFL Showroom on Kalibari Road, Matri Basanalay Gift Corner, Pankaj Ghosh's Lipi Jewellery, Montu Karmakar's Pal Jewellery, Akhil Karmakar's Arpana Jewellery, Prashant Pal's Pal Tailors were gutted in the fire.
Meanwhile, businessmen said that they are in dire straits as businesses and goods were burnt in the fire. They said, I was doing business by lending money to banks and moneylenders. Our dreams have been shattered by this terrible fire.
In this regard, the station officer of Delduar fire service. Russell Mia and Mirzapur Fire Service Station Officer Md. Matiur Rahman said, the fire started from a tea shop. The fire was brought under control after about four hours with the help of the police and local people.
Meanwhile, upon receiving the news of the fire incident, Textile and Jute Ministry member Khan Ahmed Shubo, Upazila Parishad Chairman Barrister Tahrim Hossain Shimanto, Upazila Executive Officer Sheikh Nurul Alam and Municipality Mayor Salma Akhtar Shimul have collected the list of affected traders and assured that necessary assistance will be provided.
